Steel Commander Superbikes

Sean Dylan Kelly and Cameron Beaubier made sure that BMWs made up 2 of the 3 row 1 starting spots for the first 20 lap Superbike race of the weekend. Beaubier’s Tytlers Cycle Racing teammate, JD Beach, began from row 3. Sean Dylan Kelly moved prior to the green light causing him to lose several positions, all the way back to 9th before attacking his way through the field and finishing 4th. On lap 15, Beach slid off, preventing him from finishing the race. Meanwhile, Cameron Beaubier, who broke the track record during qualifying, jumped into the lead and did not look back as he used the power of his BMW M 1000 RR to stay in 1st until the checkered flag. Danilo Lewis finished 9th on his No. 94 Team Brazil BMW.

Sean Dylan Kelly and Cameron Beaubier once again made up the majority of the front starting row for race 2. Beaubier jumped into the lead at the start with Kelly following in 4th. On lap 3, Kelly took over 3rd and followed the close battle between Beaubier and the 2nd place Ducati rider. Kelly moved into 2nd on lap 13 with an exciting pass on Beaubier who was in 2nd at that moment. With 2 laps to go, Beaubier passed Kelly for 2nd and looked for a spot to pass the leading Ducati but ran out of time. Two BMWs on the podium was an excellent accomplishment for Beaubier and Kelly, both of whom pushed as hard as possible.
