No. 6 Beaubier began the first Steel Commander Superbike race from pole position, looking to build on the success of 1st and 2nd place finishes at the MotoAmerica Superbike race weekend at Road Atlanta. Lap 3 of the first race saw Cameron make an unusual mistake and crash out of the race however, putting pressure on both the team and rider to excel in Race 2 and 3. JD Beach, Beaubier’s new Tytlers Cycle Racing teammate, brought his No. 95 BMW M 1000 RR home in 7th position while No. 40 BMW rider Sean Dylan Kelly and TopPro Racing Team finished in 4th.

Race 2 would show that the crash from the first race was forgotten and Beaubier and Tytlers Cycle Racing captured the win with Sean Dylan Kelly and TopPro Racing bringing their BMW M 1000 RR across the finish line in 2nd position. Beaubier started Race 2 from pole and built a commanding lead before capturing the win. Kelly started from 6th before riding his way onto the podium. It was unfortunately, JD Beach’s turn to experience bad luck as he went off track on lap 8 of Race 2 and DNF.

Beaubier and Kelly continued to ride their BMW M 1000 RRs to perfection in the third race of the weekend, finishing 1st and 3rd, and moving Beaubier and Tytlers Cycle Racing into the points lead of the Steel Commander Superbike Series with Kelly and TopPro Racing just behind in 3rd position. JD Beach is currently in 9th overall this season.

The second win of the weekend was Cameron Beaubier’s 62nd Superbike win, catapulting him into second overall among all AMA Superbike winners in history.

Stock 1000

In the Stock 1000 Series, three BMW riders rode their way into the top 10 of Race 1, with No. 21 Nolan Lamkin / Visit Indiana/Tom Wood Powersports finishing in 4th, just 1.1 seconds out of the 3rd podium spot. No. 360 Jayson Uribe / OrangeCat Racing finished 6th and No. 92 Jason Waters / Edge Racing crossed the line in 9th.

Race 2 in the Stock 1000 Series again saw three BMW Customer Race teams finish in the top 10 with some new names riding their way to the top of the field. Top BMW finishers were OrangeCat Racing teammates Jayson Uribe and Travis Wyman, who were 5th and 6th respectively. No. 94 Danilo Lewis / Team Brazil crossed the finish line in 10th.

The next event for BMW Motorrad Motorsport Customer Race teams will be MotoAmerica Superbikes at Road America, May 31 – June 2.
