Medallia Superbike Race 1 (Saturday)

The first 16-lap race saw Tytlers Cycle Racing BMW teammates PJ Jacobsen and Corey Alexander start in the top ten. Jacobsen moved himself into 3rd position by lap 3 while Alexander followed in 7th. Jacobsen took over 2nd on lap 5 and gave chase to the leading Yamaha. Race control determined that Jacobsen made his pass under a yellow flag however and he would have to relinquish two positions. The rain made getting that info visually to Jacobsen via pit board very difficult and the position change would not be done until after race finish.
On lap 7, Alexander moved his BMW M 1000 RR into 5th position, when a rider ahead went off course. On Lap 12, a hydroplaning accident ahead promoted Alexander to 4th. At the checkered flag, Jacobsen was moved from 2nd to 4th, putting his teammate, Alexander onto the 3rd and final podium spot.
